" I worship you, Holy Healer, because You know every intimate detail of my emotional script. You designed and created me. 'Lord, you have searched me and you know me' you know every thought and feeling written on my heart. 'You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts for afar. You discern my going out and my lying own;you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely' (Psalm 139:1-4). Before I was ever born you saw the hurts I would experience. Lord, my emotional script is so complicated. you understand me better than I understand myself. Help me as I begin to rewrite.
Your word tells me that 'all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be'(psalm 139:16). Father, I confess I don't understand your ways. If I had scripted my life I would not have included______________________(Fill in the black with the hurtful situation that has been especially difficult for you). Yet Holy one, I know you are sovereign. 'Sear me, O God, and know my heart;test me and know my anxious thoughts'(psalm 139:23). Reveal to me the pain. Show me any offensive or defensive way(see Psalm 139:24).
Lord uproot denial in me. 'If I have walked in falsehood or my food has hurried after deceit'(Job 31:5), forgive me. Holy Spirit, infuse me with courage to face truthfully the pattern of thinking and attitudes that I have developed over the years. You have said, 'There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known'(Luke 12:2). I am resting in your promise that 'you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free'(john 8:32).
'Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer, who shields my head in the day of battle(Psalm 140:7), strengthen me as I embark on this journey of rewriting my emotional script. Your desire is that I be set free and conformed to the image of your Son, Jesus Christ. I praise You that You will be faithful throughout the process. "
